Kota Ibushi Makes UK Debut in Wild Tag Match in the Streets of London, Talks Potentially Returning to WWE, Teaming with Kenny Omega (Video)

WWE Cruiserweight Classic star Kota Ibushi made his UK debut over the weekend in Colchester, followed by an appearance in London for XWA on Sunday.

Ibushi teamed up with Gota Ihashi and faced Jimmy Havoc and Cara Noir, in a match which took place in the streets of London, on top of cars, and more. You can check out match footage below.

Ibushi spoke with Metro.co.uk following his UK appearances, and below are some interview highlights:

On difficulties getting to the UK venue:

‘So many things happened on the way to the venue,’ laughed Ibushi. ‘It was very unusual. I had to help push our car because there was a puncture on the tyre! But I really enjoyed the journey.’

On competing in the WWE CWC, and which talents he was impressed by:

When I wrestled for WWE I saw some British wrestlers and they amazed me. I’m a big fan of Zack Sabre Jr in particular. Maybe one day there will be an opportunity for me to wrestle British wrestlers in WWE, but I’d also love to wrestle the likes of Zack and Will Ospreay in Japan.’

On teaming with Kenny Omega:

‘I would like to team with him again,’ Ibushi confirmed. ‘But I would like to wrestle him again too. I know I must face him again.

‘If it happens, it would possibly be the best match in the world.’
