EXTREME RULES KICKOFF MATCH

KALISTO vs. APOLLO CREWS (w/ Titus O’Neil)

Crews got the better of a really smooth back and forth early on, running misdirection and connecting with a nice looking dropkick. Kalisto fired back with a headscissors takedown and some high-flying of his own, springboarding off both the inside and the outside of the ropes, all the way to the floor. He went to the well again with another springboard but got caught with a stiff kick from Crews on the way down. From there, Titus directed traffic as Crews slowed down the pace of the match, connecting with a vertical suplex and a big lariat between rest holds, doing his best to keep the cruiserweight off his feet. After a few minutes Kalisto mounted a comeback with a backflip into a spin kick, a wicked tornado DDT and almost picked up the win with a small package. Crews caught him coming off the top rope and tossed him with a big fallaway slam, then hit a standing shooting star press, but the luchador got his shoulder up just in time. Titus, who had worked up quite a sweat freaking out at ringside, got up on the apron and tried to have a very heated meeting with his client. Kalisto took advantage of the distraction and caught Crews with the Solida Del Sol using Titus as a kicking-off point instead of the ropes to pick up the pin.

WINNER: KALISTO
