Backstage News On How Long WWE Pursued NXT Recruit

Thea Trinidad made her WWE debut on this week’s episode of NXT when she confronted Andrade “Cien” Almas.

According to PWInsider.com Trinidad is someone WWE has been pursuing for a long time now. A big moment that led to her signing was when The Rock pushed for her to play the role of AJ Lee in the upcoming Fighting with My Family WWE Studios film. At that time there was serious talk she could debut at NXT TakeOver: Orlando with Almas in April but it didn’t happen.

Thea’s first tryout with WWE was in 2013. She has also appeared on television as an Adam Rose “Rosebud” as well as an in a variety of other backstage segments and enhancement matches.
