Jesse Ventura Bringing TV Show To Russian Government Funded RT Network; Putin Assures No Censorship

WWE Hall of Famer Jesse “The Body” Ventura is set to bring his The World According to Jesse show to the RT network. RT is funded by the Russian government according to The Associated Press and multiple reports.

MLive.com reports via the A.P. that Russian President Vladimir Putin has personally assured Ventura the show will not be censored.

Ventura has had a difficult time finding a home for his television series since a federal jury awarded him $1.8 million for a defamation lawsuit against “American Sniper” author Chris Kyle. An award that was overturned in 2016 also according to the A.P.

Ventura had the following to say to the Associated Press:

I can’t get a job in the U.S. No one will touch me. My United States union throws me in the dirt and who comes to the rescue? Russia.

The union Ventura is referring to is the Screen Actors Guild. Ventura reportedly lost his health insurance through them because he was not active enough in the industry.

Ventura’s contract for the series on RT is for 32 shows. It will be filmed in Minnesota and is set to premiere in the next month or so.

Ventura’s last WWE appearance was on the November 23, 2009 episode of RAW where he served as guest host.
