Nakamura Wrestling His First Ladder Match, Ziggler Joining 6-Time Club, Women Make History & More WWE Money in the Bank Stats & Records

– This will be the 8th WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view, featuring the 18th and 19th Money in the Banker ladder matches. A grand total of 52 WWE Superstars have competed in the match since its creation in 2005. That number will increase to 60 following tonight’s event.

– AJ Styles, Baron Corbin and Shinsuke Nakamura will be competing in their first ever Money in the Bank ladder match this year. In fact, this will be the first time that the artist known as Shinsuke Nakamura will be competing in a ladder match of any kind, as those types of matches are incredibly rare in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will be competing in the match for their second time.

– Tonight’s pay-per-view will feature the first ever women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, making Charlotte Flair, Natalya, Tamina Snuka, Carmella and Becky Lynch all first-time competitors.

– Kane holds the record for most times competing in the match at seven.

– Dolph Ziggler will join the six-time club this year alongside only Christian and Kofi Kingston.

– Shelton Benjamin and Chris Jericho have competed in five Money in the Bank ladder matches.

– There have been nine title changes at Money in the Bank pay-per-views.

– If Dolph Ziggler wins tonight’s Money in the Bank ladder match, he will become only the second person in history to win the bout twice, joining CM Punk who won the match in back-to-back years in 2008 and 2009.

– A total of 19 stars (not including Owens and Zayn) have only competed in the match a single time. They include John Cena, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Neville, Fandango, Chris Benoit, Booker T, Jeff Hardy, Bobby Lashley, Carlito, Ted DiBiase, Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, Rey Mysterio, R-Truth, Alex Riley, Tyson Kidd, Tensai and Santino.

– The cities of Chicago and Pheonix have held the most Money in the Bank ladder matches, at three each. Both have featured the match at WrestleMania and an individual Money in the Bank pay-per-view. The state of Missouri will have held four matches after tonight’s show, with two in Kansas City and two in St. Louis.
