Money In The Bank

Carmella is the winner of the first ever Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match, but the decision was not without controversy.

The finish of the match saw James Ellsworth tip the ladder to send Becky Lynch face first into the top rope, then proceeded to climb up and take the briefcase down. Ellsworth tossed it to Carmella, but a group of referees seemed to debate the match could finish like this, despite no rules against it. Ellsworth then announced Carmella as the winner and the decision seemed to stand, and as JBL pointed out on commentary, there is no rule against Ellsworth’s interference.

It was also pointed out that the match is supposed to be won by the first person to retrieve the case, which leads to speculation that the match result may be reviewed again in a backstage segment or on Smackdown this week.
