At the Ring of Honor Best in the World pay-per-view, Cody defeated “Almighty” Christopher Daniels to win his first major world championship since making his pro wrestling debut in 2006. Cody also has a chance of making history, being the only person to ever hold the ROH and IWGP World Championships simultaneously, if he defeats Kazuchika Okada at the G1 Special in USA event.

At the ROH TV Tapings, a major double turn occurred. According to F4WOnline, the Addiction turned heel once again after running down the Lowell, MA crowd, and returning back to their heelish antics. Daniels also vowed to leave ROH after he defeats Cody and regains the ROH World Championship.

The report also stated that there were some direct references to NXT, which could indicate a possible debut. However, Daniels re-signed with ROH at the beginning of the year, so this most likely will not happen anytime soon, if at all.

At the end of the tapings, Cody won in two straight falls to retain the ROH World Championship. He was said to have worked as a “super babyface,” which appears to be his direction in ROH going forward. Oddly, Bullet Club celebrated with him after his match with Daniels. Since Bullet Club are still working heel, especially Marty Scurll and Hangman Page, it should be interesting if an angle forms out of this.
