SAN DIEGO, CA – Preeminent geek culture & street wear company NERDS Clothing, best known among wrestling fans for their expansive line of WWE t-shirts available nationwide, including in Hot Topic locations, has signed a collaboration deal with Masked Republic to begin creating officially licensed products for the luchadores represented by the company.
“We have been fans of what Eric Medina has created, his unique style that merges geek & pop cultures,” said Masked Republic President Kevin Kleinrock. “When TJP, who had been wrestling for Masked Republic produced projects for nearly a decade before signing with WWE, had his first WWE t-shirt released, I immediately bought one to support him. It was then that I found out about NERDS and Eric’s talent not only as an artist, but for really understanding the passion that fans have for their chosen subcultures. So many of our fans are happy to profess themselves nerds and geeks for lucha libre. We are excited now to be able to bring them NERDS t-shirts of their favorite luchadores.”
The collaboration agreement kicks off with the very first NERDS Clothing x Masked Republic officially licensed collaboration, a t-shirt for the hottest luchador on the planet today, Penta Zero M. Penta came to fame in the AAA Lucha Libre promotion in Mexico, but broke away to become the most sought after independent lucha star across the globe. From his new home in Mexico, The Crash Lucha Libre, to headlining across the United States for groups such as Southern California’s Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Northern California’s Pro Wrestling Revolution, Chicago’s AAW, Atlanta’s Mucha Lucha ATL, New York’s Tier 1 Wrestling and all points in-between and beyond including across the ocean to the U.K. and continental Europe, there is not a more in-demand star in lucha libre. Penta is also seen on television in the U.S., Germany, the U.K. and Japan as well as on Netflix in the role of “Pentagon Dark” on the series Lucha Underground.

The Masked Republic x NERDS x Penta Zero M t-shirt will be available both at Masked Republic’s SDCC convention booth with Headlocked Comics (#1901) as well as in their online store LuchaShop.com beginning at 12 Noon Pacific time on Thursday, July 20 until Sunday, July 23 at midnight Pacific or while stock remains. Additional t-shirts are expected to be released this fall.
