San Diego Comic Con 2017 Mattel WWE Display Coverage Day 1 (Photos)

Last night was the Preview Night for San Diego Comic Con 2017, one of the largest pop culture conventions in the world. Every year Mattel shows off their new WWE products, as well as other WWE licensees, to the public to prepare them for what’s to come later this year and early next. Today was the first official day of the con and a lot was shown.

Today WWE action figure collectors had the opportunity to see figures from upcoming series such as WWE Elite 52, WWE Elite 53, the Then, Now Forever Elite Walmart Series, and many others. Mattel also had a panel with several of the WWE Women to reveal their new WWE Fashion Doll series you can read about here.

Alexa Bliss’ first official Elite action figure was shown and impressed many collectors as the likeness and detail is spot on. Not to mention Mojo Rawley’s first figure was shown and the likes of Ember Moon, Elias Samson, Isaac Yankem, Mickie James, James Ellsworth, Corey Graves, Ken Shamrock, Tye Dillinger, Scotty 2 Hotty, Jack Gallaher, Mean Gene Okerlund and others you can see in the photos below.

A WWE M.U.S.C.L.E. series was revealed that will be releasing in Winter 2017. This is a throwback to older collectors who collected these solid, one colored mini PVC style figures back in the day. Not to mention the second series of the old WWE Hasbro style figures now known as Retro figures.

One thing people noticed was the lack of articulation on the WWE Basic 77 figures, in that their swivel bicep joints were now missing and potentially other articulation as well. Could this be the future of the WWE Basic figures?

Ringside Collectibles also did a walk through video with Noelle Foley & WWE Mattel Designer Bill Miekina:

Bayley, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Charlotte respond to their new Fashion Dolls:

Some of these series are currently available for pre-order on RingsideCollectibles.com if you wanted to guarantee yourself getting them now that you can see what they look like.

More figures and products will be revealed through Saturday so be sure to check back each day for more coverage. For live coverage be sure to follow my popular Wrestling Figure News Twitter in the meantime!

What are your thoughts on these new figures/dolls? Which ones are you excited to get?
