Emotional New Day Members Celebrate Tag Title Win After WWE Battleground (Video), The Usos Promise Retaliation Soon

The New Day defeated Jimmy and Jey Uso to capture the Smackdown Tag Team Championships at Sunday night’s WWE Battleground pay-per-view. This marks the third title reign for the trio of Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E, who previously set the all-time record for longest tag title reign in company history.

The new champs may not have long to celebrate their victory, as WWE cameras caught up with The Usos backstage following the match. The Smackdown Live stars promised retaliation for the loss of the championships, and soon. You can check out the video above.

Cameras also caught up with the New Day after the bout, which kicked off Sunday night’s pay-per-view. The emotional champions reflected on three years as a team together, the influence Kofi Kingston has had on African American pro wrestling, and Xavier Woods finally being the teammate to pin an opponent to win a WWE title. Speaking of Kingston, this is actually his 13th championship win with the company, amassing six reigns with three different sets of tag titles over the course of his 10-year run.
