Chris Jericho made his return on tonight’s episode of WWE Smackdown Live, a move that shocked everyone including United States Champion Kevin Owens.
Jericho came to the ring after Kevin Owens talked about taking back his title, and that he would bring back the Open Challenge, but it would start next week. AJ Styles came out and demanded to know when he would get his rematch, but Owens said he said no one was getting a shot tonight and tried to leave. Jericho’s music cued up and Owens couldn’t believe it, and Jericho said he was back to get his rematch.
Jericho talked about leaving on a stretcher the last time he was on Smackdown, then Styles and Jericho made a case for who got the title match first. Owens tried to leave while they argued, but Shane McMahon stopped him and said both made good cases for a title shot. Shane then said they would both get a shot in a triple threat, and it’s happening tonight in the main event.
