AJ Styles is once again the United States Champion after defeating Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho for the title on tonight’s WWE Smackdown Live.
The final moments of a great match saw Owens hit a pop-up powerbomb, but Jericho somehow kicked out at two, so Owens went to the top rope. He connected with a frog splash and made the cover, but Styles ran in and threw him outside, stealing the pin to win the title.
Owens flipped out after the match and threw chairs at ringside, then screamed about how it wasn’t fair and he wanted his rematch next week. Owens said he didn’t care who liked it, but he wanted his match next week. The match was not confirmed during the show, but it will likely be added to a show that already features Shinsuke Nakamura versus John Cena next week.
