– WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville opened up the show, showing footage of last night’s scuffle with Akira Tozawa. He warned Tozawa that just because he was missing for a week, it doesn’t mean his Kingdom is vulnerable to a hostile takeover.
– Cedric Alexander teams up with Rich Swann to take on TJP and Tony Nese in tonight’s main event. Plus, we’ve got Neville vs. Ariya Daivari and more on deck.
– Akira Tozawa came out to join commentary for tonight’s opponent contest. He insists that his injury is “fine” multiple times. Ariya Daivari made his way out and wants to know what Tozawa is doing here, because the only person who deserves a championship match against Neville is him. He claimed that after he wins tonight, he will dedicate his match to 1986 gold medalist Abdollah Movahed.
Ariya Daivari vs. Neville (Non-Title)
Daivari rolled to the outside playing a little mind games to get things started. Neville tried to lock up a second time, but again the challenger rolled to the floor, then rolled back inside when the champion went after him. Neville was not happy. Daivari eventually caught him chasing and threw him hard into the barricade twice, mouthing off the crowd as he went. The assault continued as Neville got sent into the post, the challenger yelling “this is my Kingdom now!” Daivari hit a huge frog splash from the top rope, but only got a close two. The champion finally got a move in connecting with an explosive dropkick that sent his opponent flying. Neville dragged Daivari around in front of Tozawa and bashed him off the top of the commentary table. The two talked a little trash and Daivari came up from behind, pushing Neville into the injured star. Neville tried to make it back into the ring but got counted out at 10.
