Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer was on Live Audio Wrestling recently and shared his thoughts on the rumors that Brock Lesnar may be headed back to UFC for another fight.

He started by saying, “There’s definitely fire to the smoke,” before stating, “UFC wants a Lesnar fight because UFC’s having a bad year. I’d heard a couple weeks ago they wanted Ronda Rousey back and they want Brock Lesnar. They want another Connor McGregor fight this year. They’ve got a budget and this year has been terrible. They want some drawing power for the end of the year.”

Meltzer went on to say that he feels WWE would be able to work out a deal with UFC for Brock while he is still under WWE contract like they did for UFC 200. According to Meltzer Brock’s next UFC opponent could be decided this Saturday night at UFC 214 as Jon Jones will face Daniel Cormier for the UFC light heavyweight championship.

Meltzer finished by saying that he thinks UFC wants to groom Jones to be a huge Superstar and a win over Brock would be a major coronation.

During a Facebook Q&A last night Jones was asked if he would move up weight for a heavyweight fight with Brock Lesnar to which he replied:

I would love to fight Brock Lesnar. He’s a massive dude. I mean, it would be a massive draw. Really big for the sport. It’d be a great challenge. That’s a big ol’ boy. I doubt Brock Lesnar would take that fight, though. I definitely wouldn’t try to wrestle with him the whole time. I would … you know what, I wouldn’t tell you what I would do.

The Associated Press then reached out to Brock for comment and he had the following to say, “Would I fight Jon Jones? Anytime, anywhere. Right now he should be worried about D.C. on Saturday night.”
