As noted, WWE star Chris Jericho was involved in a verbal altercation with a fan in New York City on Friday night.
TMZ Sports released a video, which you can watch at this link, featuring the fan screaming curse words at Jericho, and Jericho then shouting back at him. The fan claimed he was trying to congratulate Jericho, and then more shouting ensued with Jericho finally saying “these guys are f***ing pu**ies.”
The report adds Jericho was in town for a David Z tribute show, and while he did take some time to sign autographs and take pictures with fans, he eventually turned people down as he was trying to leave the scene.
Jericho has since issued the following statement on the incident:
“David Z was a good friend of mine and I was mentally and emotionally shattered after paying tribute to him and essentially saying goodbye to him Friday night.”
“I was not in a good state of mind at that time and instead of ignoring a pushy (aka rude) fan which is what I would usually do, I snapped. My apologies to all involved and God bless David Z.”
Nick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until the age of 18, when he decided to pack his flack jacket and move to New York City.
