1. Shane McMahon Buys World Championship Wrestling

On March 26, 2001, Shane McMahon stunned the pro wrestling world when he appeared, for the first time ever, in a WCW ring and announced to the live crowd attending the final broadcast of Monday Night Nitro that he in fact purchased WCW from Ted Turner. This lead to an angle known as The Invasion, which saw Shane McMahon's Alliance battle Vince McMahon in a WCW vs WWE style feud.
