Dwayne Johnson Teaming Up w/ Comedian Kevin Hart in Action-Comedy “Central Intelligence”

The Rock in Central IntelligenceVariety.com has confirmed reports that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will team with comedian Kevin Hart in the upcoming New Line action-comedy, “Central Intelligence”.

Ed Helms of “The Office” fame will be an executive producer on the project, with Rawson Marshall Thurber (“Dodgeball”, “We’re the Millers”) set to direct. Thurber will also help write a final version of the script, alongside John Morris and Sean Anders (“Hot Tub Time Machine”).

The following is a brief plot synopsis, courtesy of Variety:

“The story begins with a class reunion approaching, as a former high school sports star turned accountant (Hart) is contacted by a classmate (Johnson) who was bullied and humiliated back in the day. The “loser” that the accountant remembers is now a CIA contract killer who ropes him into helping foil a plot to sell classified military secrets.”

KILLAM: I thought “Dodgeball” was funny in 2004, and “We’re the Millers” got a few laughs (mostly because I love Ron Swanson). “Hot Tub” was seriously underrated as a comedy in 2010, so this may actually have a chance at being funny. It reminds of another Rock movie, “Get Smart”, but with more of a “21 Jump Street” vibe.
