Tony D’Angelo is apparently recovering from a serious injury.
D’Angelo faced Wes Lee on the September 27 episode of WWE NXT in a qualifier for the NXT North American Championship Ladder Match at Halloween Havoc. D’Angelo landed badly on a drop toe-hold, and the match reached an abrupt conclusion. D’Angelo missed the following week’s episode, but he returned to TV on the October 4 edition of NXT.
During the show, he was seen with crutches, and he told Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo that he had “blown out his PCL in 100 places”. He also stated that he has picked Lorenzo’s opponent for the October 11 episode, and “Stacks” will recognize them when their music plays.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
