Tony Khan Says AEW Will Be Doing Live Events, There’s Definitely A Demand For It

Tony Khan says All Elite Wrestling will be hitting the road more in the future.

During his appearance on In The Zone with Brandon Kravitz (96.9 The Game FM Orlando), Tony Khan was asked about the potential for doing non-televised events in the near future. Khan said it’s definitely something they’re planning and it’s been a topic of discussion.

“It’s a great question. Yeah, I have [thought about it]. And that’s something we are talking about. We have a great live events team with Rafael Morffi and Chris Harrington and a bunch of great people I work with, now Jeff Jarrett. Jeff Jarrett has a lot of experience in the office too. That’s something we talk a lot about, building out that live event business because there’s definitely a demand for AEW live events and now we have this big, great, strong roster that really wants to go out and do live events. So I think that’s something we’re going to do.”

AEW has only done one non-televised live event in its three-year history so far. The House Always Wins took place on April 9, 2021 at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida. At the time, Tony Khan said that he was in talks about a potential streaming home and was saving that event for one entry in the growing AEW content library.

“I’m trying to build the library up. We’ve done over 100 episodes of Dynamite [over] two years, we run every week, we’ve done 104 episodes of Dynamite now. We’ve done ten pay-per-views plus the streaming specials. I have something that nobody’s ever seen before, ‘The House Always Wins’, which is a pay-per-view-level card with all the top stars of AEW in action,” Khan told Rasslin’s Brandon F. Walker. “It was done in Jacksonville in front of the fans in the pandemic, with open-air, totally spaced out crowd, but it was something I’ve been saving. It’s a great show that nobody has seen.”
