Of Course Teddy Long Got High With RVD At The WWE Draft

Holla, holla, holla. Teddy Long got high with Rob Van Dam.

Long and Rob Van Dam were both part of the 2023 WWE Draft. Along with other legends, such as JBL and Road Dogg, they presented draft picks for RAW and SmackDown. When Long and Rob Van Dam got together backstage, a good time was evidently had by all.

Speaking with Nick Hausman for Inside The Ropes, Long joked that the two snuck out the back, and they had a great conversation.

“Of course we did,” Long said. “You know we did. [Laughs] We [had] one hell of a conversation. That’s all I can tell you.”

Long also commented on the fans’ confusion at seeing the former SmackDown General Manager announce picks for the red brand, as he noted that he thought it was a good approach.

“No, not at all,” Long said. “What I thought that they were doing then is not to get the people confused and to really have them to think that I’m coming back to run SmackDown. I thought that was a good move because I’m not coming back to be the GM. I’m just coming back to be a part of the draft or whatever else they want me to do. So I think that was good. It didn’t feel weird to me at all.”

The legend then shared his thoughts on getting paired as a presenter with JBL, and he highlighted their lengthy friendship.

“Me and JBL, we’ve been friends ever since I started in WWE in 1998, man,” Long said. “Just a great honor to be out there with him, and he gave me one of the greatest Hall of Fame speeches that I think anybody could ever do because he told the truth, and he said exactly like it was. I love JBL, and he cares a lot about me. We’re a team together, man. What a great guy.
