Drew McIntyre knows what kind of merchandise makes money, even if WWE sometimes doesn’t.
At WrestleMania 40 last year, during his World Heavyweight Championship match with Seth Rollins, McIntyre took the moment to go to ringside and borrow his cellphone from his wife so he could tweet out: “Bored at work. LOL!”
This infamous moment went viral online for several weeks, and more fans seemingly remember this moment than Damian Priest’s cash-in on McIntyre following the match.
Drew McIntyre took to social media this morning to reflect on the anniversary of this moment and revealed that he asked WWE Shop to turn this moment into a shirt, and they didn’t do it, tweeting out:
“Fact: I asked @WWEShop if they could make this into a shirt. But I guess 39m views and 34,000 retweets wasn’t enough for them to take notice… Either way, happy anniversary,” Drew McIntyre said in a post.
While the moment might be too late for WWE Shop to produce at this point, as the old saying goes, better late than never!
