Lyra Valkyria found the photo of the friend that [she] was looking for.
Valkyria, the current Women’s Intercontinental Champion, spoke with Alex Lajas, aka Queen of the Ring, during media day at WrestleMania 41 weekend. The pair spoke about Valkyria’s Evanescence fandom and picked their fantasy Coachella lineup before Lyra cautiously revealed she’s a huge Nickelback fan.
“OK… it might not fit the Coachella vibe, but my personal Coachella is going to have Evanescence, Nightwish. This one’s gonna bounce on me back hard… Nickelback,” Lyra Valkyria said. “I love Nickelback, they are the greatest band. They don’t deserve the hate. [The memes] are funny. But yeah, absolute number one Nickelback fan. I love them.”
Alex said she felt like the internet would love to know that about Lyra, who wasn’t as certain.
“I don’t know,” Lyra said. “Their videos, they are so emotional. They make me cry.”
Lyra finished out her “dream” Coachella lineup with Avril Lavigne and Bowling Soup, noting that “it’s very rare I meet people with the same taste in music as me.”
Nickelback has been featured on WWE TV before
WWE has a connection to Nickelback, as the band provided its song, “Burn It To The Ground,” as an official theme song for RAW. WWE used “Burn It to the Ground” from November 16, 2009, until July 16, 2012, when “The Night” by CFO$ (Kromestatik) replaced it.
Lyra Valkyria teamed up with a mystery partner, Becky Lynch, at WrestleMania 41 to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship. However, the alliance was short-lived, as they lost the titles the next night on WWE RAW. Lynch turned on Valkyria and attacked her after the match, seemingly setting up a feud between them.
