Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez Reveal The Secret To The Judgment Day’s Success

Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez are two of the newest members of the Judgment Day stable. They believe keeping things fresh is one reason the group has endured.

The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions recently spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard about their tenure in the group. The Judgement Day has been on WWE television since April 2022, when Edge officially formed the group with Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley as its first members.

Since then, Dominik Mysterio, Liv Morgan, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh have joined, while all three original members (and Carlito) have since departed the stable. Raquel and Roxanne believe that “revolving door” helps keep things fresh, and they also excel with anything they are given.

Raquel: “I think the secret to Judgment Day’s success is that it’s ever-evolving. It’s constantly changing. But at the same time, we have characters that have been there since the beginning that have been evolving, becoming bigger stars than when they started. I think it’s really cool to watch their journey in Judgment Day as well as watch the transition of Judgment Day, and all of the rivalries that come with it. We have former members versus current members and vice versa, there’s so many options.”

Roxanne: “I agree. I feel like you haven’t seen many factions that people have come and go and evolved, but I feel like Judgment Day does so well with everything that they are given.”

Rodriguez was sidelined while she dealt with being diagnosed with mast cell activation syndrome. MCAS is a skin condition that causes symptoms similar to an allergic reaction in her body. Now, Rodriguez says being part of a sisterhood like Judgment Day gave her the confidence to take on anything.

Raquel Rodriguez says Judgement Day gave her the confidence to take on the world

Raquel: “I feel like the direction’s always been up to us and what we wanted to do with it. I know when I got introduced into the group, my role was to be the muscle, someone’s bodyguard, to be the protector of the greatest women’s world champion, Liv Morgan. And so, that was my position, I’m happy to be in that position and be part of the group. I think it’s helped me break out with my confidence as well. Because coming back from that illness that I had, my confidence was really, really low.

“Just dealing with skin issues and not being able to do the things that the other women’s wrestlers were doing. But being part of the group made us more of a family. Being part of that sisterhood has helped elevate that confidence. Now we have that confidence to take on anything, take on the world.”

Roxanne agreed, noting her history with Raquel in NXT. She believes their styles mesh well, and they did a great job of keeping gold in the stable as long as possible.

Roxanne and Raquel ultimately lost the women’s tag team titles to Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam. Despite the loss, The Judgment Day has continued to be a popular focal point of WWE RAW. Dominik Mysterio is still the reigning Intercontinental Champion, while Balor and McDonagh are the World Tag Team Champions.

Roxanne Perez will face off with Lyra Valkyria on this week’s episode of WWE RAW.
