Charlotte Flair Reveals The Crazy Amount She Spends On Her Robes For WWE

Charlotte Flair likes to look the part, and that part comes with a pretty steep price tag.

Flair is known to wear elaborate robes to the ring, each decorated with sequins, stones and feathers. Flair’s wardrobe often sets the tone for her big matches, but putting together her attire isn’t cheap. Charlotte was a guest on the Post Run High podcast with Kate Mackz and shared how much she’s spending to put her iconic look together.

“I have these ridiculous peacock feather robes, which I’ll be working forever to afford them because I like a new one every show,” Flair said with a laugh. “[They cost] usually around $15,000. But I believe the more that you invest in yourself, the most you invest in your character, the fans invest in you. It’s just part of the ‘Charlotte Flair’ [gimmick]; the elaborate robes, the feathers, it just makes that character larger than life.”

Charlotte’s budget has gotten bigger as she’s evolved

“I think my first robe was like $4,000, but as I’ve evolved and the character has evolved, [my budget has gotten bigger]. My paycheck [has evolved],” she quipped. “I started using designers, and they don’t realize that I have to pay for these. These aren’t production, this is my money! But it’s worth every penny.”

Flair says she has a closet full of her past robes, and only sold one in ten years’ time.

For comparison, Charlotte’s father, Ric Flair, said that his ring robes cost an average of $11,000 each. Flair said his most expensive one was the robe he wore for his first retirement match at Wrestlemania 24 against Shawn Michaels, which cost $15,000. Ric’s robes have become highly sought-after collector’s items, with some rare ones selling for staggering amounts of money. Ric’s famed “Jungle robe” recently sold at an auction for $103,700.
