Liv Morgan reveals how her 2023 arrest turned into a police meet-and-greet after the officers realized she was a WWE Superstar.
Former Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis (20 grams or less) and a cannabis vape pen in Sumter County, Florida, in December 2013. The charges were dropped a month later after her attorney entered a plea of Nolo Contendere. This means the defendant does not officially admit guilt, but accepts conviction as if a guilty plea had been entered against them.
Speaking on Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story podcast, Morgan looked back at the incident and revealed how things took a bizarre turn after the arresting officers found out that she was a WWE Superstar.
“I would never be like, ‘I’m Liv Morgan, I’m from WWE.’ That’s not my style,” Morgan explained. “He looks in my car and finds all my WWE shit and the complete vibe changes. Now, they’re like apologizing to me. Now, it’s too far in the process where they have to arrest me. What the body camera didn’t pick up is three cop cars pull up as I’m in the backseat, and I’m doing a meet and greet. I’m like handcuffed and they’re like, ‘Liv! Is work going to be mad?’ ‘Yeah! Yeah, they are.’ They’re taking photos.” [H/T WrestlingNews.co]
Liv Morgan also said the arresting officers invaded her privacy
Liv Morgan also revealed that one of the officers invaded her privacy while searching her vehicle. She says this happened when he found her personal journal and read it out loud. Bodycam footage showed the officer reading out her life goals and questioning if the journal was a client list because of the cash found in the car.
While she initially feared the arrest would ruin her career, Morgan received internal support from WWE officials. Since then, she has achieved remarkable success and has become an integral part of the company. Recent reports also claim that WWE is planning to make Morgan a centerpiece of WrestleMania 42.
