Former WWE Champion Cody Rhodes gets emotional after receiving an extremely rare gift.
In recent weeks on WWE programming, we were reminded that memorabilia or photos, including Cody with his father, Dusty Rhodes, are incredibly important to him. It appears Topps, the current producer of WWE trading cards, noticed this and presented The American Nightmare with a very rare gift.
Topps took to social media today to post a video of one of their employees gifting Rhodes a one-of-a-kind dual autograph card from 16 years ago featuring him and his father. The following is the back-and-forth exchange between Rhodes and Topps.
Topps: We got something special for you. It’s a 16-year-old trading card.
Cody Rhodes: Oh, sweet. Wow, look. Got a real signature too. That’s cool. I find stuff later. I don’t even want to take it out. It’s so sweet. Take a look at that. What’s it say on the back? Man, there’s not a lot of stuff with him and I on it. That’s really, really special.
Topps: That’s the only one.
Cody Rhodes: It’s mine?
Topps: Yes, this is yours to keep.
Cody Rhodes: Aww, thank you. They’re very tough to find. Oh my gosh, I love it. Go right by the tattoo. You know what I’m saying? There it is. Thank you so much. I love that. Thank you. Thank you. I love that. That’s great. Thank you. Oh, man. I appreciate that. That’s a good card, dude.
