An officially recognized WWE superfan named Vladimir has been hospitalized due to complications from Parkinson’s Disease.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider took to X/Twitter to reveal that his long-time friend and WWE superfan, Vladimir Abouzeide, has been hospitalized. He has been battling Parkinson’s Disease over the past few years, and one of the by-products of the condition is balance issues. He fell and hit his head on the concrete while walking with his sister and suffered a major concussion. Johnson shared the news with Abouzeide’s sister’s permission.
Vladimir Abouzeide has attended many WrestleManias with his friends and was the subject of the WWE documentary Superfan: The Story of Vladimir. Released in 2023, the documentary was streaming on Peacock, but is no longer available on the platform.
“I have been asked to pass along the following news on Vladimir Abouzeide, subject of WWE documentary Superfan: The Story of Vladimir and the company’s only officially recognized superfan. As we have previously noted, Vlad has been battling Parkinson’s Disease over the last several years.
The WWE superfan is out of imminent danger but remains hospitalized
“One of the by-products of the disease is terrible balance issues. This past week, Vlad was walking with his sister when he suddenly fell, striking his head on the concrete. He suffered a major concussion and there was concern about bleeding on the brain, but we are told that he is believed to be out of imminent danger when it came to the bleeding.
“Vlad will, however, remain hospitalized in NYC for some time to come. There is no timetable for his release as I write this. There is no timetable for his release as I write this. Vlad’s sister gave me permission to pass along the word so that she can ask everyone to please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he recovers. Vladimir has been one of my dearest, closest friends for decades. I ask that everyone please send him the best wishes you can.
“We have set up an email if anyone would like to send Vlad best wishes. I’ll personally print them and bring them to him – [email protected],” Johnson wrote.
