The rivalry between MJF and Darby Allin got even crazier on the May 20 episode of AEW Dynamite, as MJF nearly lost his hair just days before their match at AEW Double or Nothing.
During the main event of the show, Allin successfully defended the AEW Men’s World Championship against Mike Bailey in a hard-fought match. But after the match, the focus shifted back to the heated feud between Allin and MJF.
Darby Allin Nearly Turns Clippers On MJF During Dynamite
MJF joined commentary during the title match and closely watched as Bailey pushed Allin to his limit. Bailey came close to winning several times with his fast moves and submission attempts. Late in the match, he even countered the Coffin Drop and looked ready to pull off the upset.
Soon after, MJF got involved.
As Allin barely went for a pin after hitting the Coffin Drop, MJF ran to ringside and placed Bailey’s foot on the ropes to stop the referee’s count. The interference immediately caused chaos at ringside, as Kevin Knight confronted MJF while the match continued.
Even after the distraction, Allin managed to lock Bailey in the Scorpion Deathlock and forced him to tap out to keep the championship.
But once the match ended, the focus turned back to the special stipulation for Allin and MJF’s upcoming match.
Kevin Knight grabbed the microphone and took more shots at MJF. He praised Allin for being a fighting champion and then mocked MJF’s hair situation, joking that after losing at Double or Nothing, he would look like a “dirty eraser” once his head gets shaved.
That was enough to bring MJF back out.
After first leaving through the crowd, MJF suddenly returned and attacked Allin from behind. He beat him down before pulling out a pair of hair clippers from under the ring. MJF then walked toward Allin, ready to shave his head before their match even happened.
But Allin recovered just in time, stopped the attack, and suddenly, he was the one holding the clippers near MJF’s head. For a few moments, it looked like MJF was about to lose his hair right there on Dynamite.
However, MJF fought his way free and escaped the ring before the clippers could touch his head.
