WWE Preparing Backup Plans For Clash In Italy Amid Jacob Fatu Injury Concern — REPORT

WWE is reportedly keeping a close eye on Jacob Fatu’s condition ahead of Clash in Italy after the challenger suffered a legitimate injury during a live event in Liverpool, England.

With Sunday’s premium live event rapidly approaching, company officials are said to be preparing for multiple scenarios while hoping their original plans remain intact.

Fatu is currently scheduled to challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship in a Tribal Combat match, one of the marquee attractions on the card.

However, recent developments have cast a shadow over the highly anticipated showdown.

Jacob Fatu injury reportedly has WWE considering contingency plans

According to PWInsider, Fatu was legitimately injured during his Liverpool Street Fight against Solo Sikoa at Thursday’s WWE live event.

Initial reports noted that the former Bloodline member was seen limping backstage following the bout, raising questions about whether he was selling or dealing with a genuine issue.

A subsequent update indicated that the injury is believed to involve Fatu’s back. Despite the concern, there remains optimism internally that he will be able to compete this weekend.

Cory Hays of False Finish reported that WWE is currently operating under the assumption that Fatu will be ready in time for Clash in Italy. However, the company is also exploring alternative options if circumstances change.

“They are under the assumption that Jacob will be fine by Sunday,” Hays reported. “In the case that Fatu is not fine, WWE is currently looking into potential pivots.”

The situation places WWE in a difficult position given the significance of the scheduled Tribal Combat match.

Reigns and Fatu have been on a collision course for weeks, and the bout is positioned as one of the event’s biggest attractions. If the match cannot proceed, WWE may be forced to call an audible and reshape part of the card at the last minute.

For now, no official changes have been announced. The expectation remains that Fatu will be cleared, but WWE appears determined to have a backup plan ready — just in case this road to Clash hits an unexpected speed bump.
