AEW World Trios Championships: The Conglomeration (c) vs. Don Callis Family
- The champs hold onto the titles here. In an opening match worthy of a big show, the groups went all out going after one another. Toward the end, O’Reilly broke up a pin from Beretta who hit Cassidy with a Gotch Style Piledriver. O’Reilly then got worked on for a big, but eventually Cassidy gets back involved and hits Beretta with a big body drop. Strong then tagged in and helped on Beretta. Cassidy then went airborne to elbow drop Romero off the top ropes, and O’Reilly worked on Archer as the match ended.
Winners – The Conglomeration
Grade – B+
It was a solid match, overall, especially as one of the big title openers. Conglomeration continues to look like a great group, but it would be fun to see them get involved with more folks than the Don Callis Family.
AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship Eliminator: Divivne Dominion vs. TayJay
- Divine Dominion was hoping to quash any chances of putting their belts on the line, but it wasn’t meant to be. TayJay walked out with a shocking win here. Toward the end of the match, Anna Jay nearly got pinned after Bayne and Kross went to work on her. She kicked out at the last second though, and was then set up for a Divine Intervention. Tay Melo came to the rescue, though, pushing Bayne and allowing Jay to lock in the Queenslayer. Bayne back into the corner to try and get out of it, but Jay kept it locked in, and Melo held Kross back outside of the ring while Bayne tapped out.
Winners – TayJay
Grade – B
What a win for TayJay! Really exciting to see them get a title chance. While they might not win, anything can happen, and they proved tonight they have what it takes to compete at that same championship level.
In a video, we hear from Tommaso Ciampa, who said he hoped Chris Jericho would’ve shown up, but learned he isn’t. He then went into his reasons for hating Jericho, including his hatred of Fozzy, the light up jacket, cruises, armbars, and more.
Hazuki vs. Maya World
- This one is over relatively quick. Hazuki comes out on top in her debut after a back-and-forth bout. The match came to an end after World hit a big kick and went for a moonsault. Hazuki rolled out of the way at the last minute, then got up and hit a big running elbow. She then hit one more big move on World before climbing to the top rope and hitting a senton for the win.
Winner – Hazuki
After the match, Hazuki and Persephone (who was at ringside for commentary) stared face-to-face ahead of their Owen Hart Cup match next week.
Grade – C+
Overall, a fun match. It wasn’t the most entertaining, but was still more than enough to showcase both star’s talents here.
Lee Moriarty vs. Tim Bosby
- Another absolute quick match here. Moriarty wins this one easily, beating Bosby thoroughly here. The match came to an end after Bosby got a couple of uppercuts in on Moriarty, but Lee then quickly hit a kick to Bosby’s gut. Moriarty locked in the Border City Stretch for the submission win.
Winner – Lee Moriarty
Grade – C
Probably the least entertaining match of the night. Moriarty in action is fun, but he needs a bit more competition.
The Infantry vs. Death Riders
- Unsurprisingly, the Death Riders come out on top here. The Moxley-led group traded blows early with The Infantry, and the match became a back-and-forth affair soon after. Toward the end of the match, Mox got Carlie Bravo in the corner and began throwing down punches, counting to 10, then doing another 10. Later in the match, Mox hit a big cutter on Bravo, then he and PAC began going 2-for-1 on Shawn Dean. Mox eventually hit the Death Riders on Dean for the win as Marina Shafir also got involved.
Winners – Death Riders
Grade – B-
This was a great match, but that’s not too surprising given how good Moxley is in the ring. It’s always fun to see them all in the ring, and hopefully they continue getting some fun matches.
The Gunns vs. The Dogs
- This one was even more of a brawl than the previous match. From the start, all four stars were going at it. In the end, though, The Dogs came out on top. The match ended with Clark Connors throwing Austin Gunn into the ropes, which Finlay capitalized on by hitting him with his shillelagh. Connors then hit a spear on Austin for the win.
Winners – The Dogs
After the match, Finlay looked to keep things going with Austin, but Ace and Juice Robinson came down to the ring to force The Dogs to leave.
Grade – C+
Another fun match, but not a whole lot of juice (no pun intended) outside of the finish.
Jake Doyle & Brian Cage vs. Jimmy Wild & Tommy Mars
- This one wasn’t advertised, but Doyle and Cage come out on top in this impromptu bout. The match ends relatively quick, with Cage hitting a piledriver on Mars while Doyle hit a powerbomb on Wild.
Winners – Jake Doyle & Brian Cage
After the match, the winning duo looked ready to ambush Konosuke Takeshita, but security came out to stop them and get the main event going.
Grade – C
Fair enough, an extra match is an extra match, I suppose. Still was mostly a lot of nothing.
AEW International Championship: Konosuke Takeshita (c) vs. Daniel Garcia
- The main event lived up to the hype here, and Takeshita continued his successful reign as champion. Konosuke won the match, walking out on top after hitting a Raging Fire on Garcia after a ton of back-and-forth moves.
Winner – Konosuke Takeshita
After the match, The Don Callis Family is here and ambushes Takeshita. STP comes down and gets into it with Moxley and the Death Riders. Speedball Bailey and The Congolmeration are down here now too, and it’s going crazy. The night ends with mostly all the babyfaces and the Death Riders clearing everyone out and staring down the heels.
Grade – B+
Who can say no to a good ol’ fashioned end-of-show brawl? It was a real fun ending, even if it didn’t really serve any crazy consequences.
AEW Collision Review
Grade – B-
Overall, a good show. Some low moments here throughout the middle, but bookended by two fun title matches. We’ll see ya next week for some Owen Hart Cup action.
