AND NEW — Sol Ruca is the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion!
Ruca upset Becky Lynch at WWE Clash in Italy on Sunday, beating ‘The Man’ to win the Intercontinental title. Ruca’s status was originally up in the air, as she reportedly was not medically cleared to compete coming into the match.
Sol Ruca revealed on Sunday morning that she was cleared to compete in the match, which was the penultimate bout of the night. Ruca won the match by countering a Manhandle Slam in the corner and hitting a Sol Snatcher for the pinfall victory.
This is Ruca’s first title win on the WWE main roster and her third title win in WWE overall. Ruca is also a former WWE Women’s Speed Champion and a former NXT Women’s North American Champion.
Lynch’s title reign, her third, ends at 43 days, which is the shortest of her three overall Intercontinental title reigns.
