Damian Priest may still have plenty left to accomplish inside a WWE ring, but he’s already thinking about what comes next after his in-ring career.
During a recent interview, the former World Heavyweight Champion discussed the possibility of stepping into Hollywood, while making it clear that any acting ambitions would have to wait until his wrestling journey is complete.
The conversation began with a lighthearted question about replacing The Rock in a future Moana film, but Priest’s response revealed that acting has crossed his mind as a realistic long-term goal.
Damian Priest says Dave Bautista’s journey inspires his Hollywood ambitions
Speaking with Chris D Comedy, Priest admitted he would be open to pursuing acting if the right opportunity presented itself, though he stressed that wrestling remains his priority.
“I mean, look, if that phone rings, I’ll answer it. You know? I mean, why not,” Priest said. “But that would have to be also when I’m done with the wrestling thing, like he did. I’ve thought about that as far as a possible future, dabbling in that world. It seems interesting. I love entertainment. I love entertaining people.”
Damian Priest also pointed to Dave Bautista as someone whose career path has inspired him. Both men entered WWE at a similar stage of life, and Priest believes that success isn’t defined by age.
“The first one that comes to mind is Dave Batista who’s a big actor now, but he joined WWE around the same age that I joined WWE,” Priest said.
He continued by explaining the mindset that has guided his own career.
“Drive has no time limit, no expiration date. So, you never know when it’s going to happen.”
Priest added that while he might have wished parts of his journey had unfolded differently, he wouldn’t rewrite his story.
“I wouldn’t change anything because everything happened for a reason,” he said. “I’m ecstatically happy now with my life and the things I get to do.”
Bautista has built one of Hollywood’s most respected careers among former professional wrestlers, earning praise for balancing blockbuster franchises with dramatic roles. Priest isn’t calling his shot just yet, but if his wrestling career eventually fades to black, he has made it clear that the silver screen could be his next stage. After all, some superstars don’t just cut promos — they audition for the next act.
