AEW Announces Jack Perry’s First Match Since Re-Signing

Jack Perry is ready for his first match since signing a new contract with AEW.

Perry officially signed a new AEW contract during the July 8 Beach Break episode of Dynamite. AEW aired a video showing his journey from “Jungle Boy” to “The Scapegoat.” The segment ended with Perry sitting next to AEW President Tony Khan and Luchasaurus as he signed his new contract on camera.

Now that the deal is done, Perry has made it clear that he is focused on working his way toward the AEW World title.

Jack Perry begins “Chapter 2” in AEW

On the July 15 episode of Dynamite, Perry appeared in a backstage video and announced the start of “Chapter 2” of his AEW career. During the promo, he also revealed that he will wrestle this Saturday on AEW Collision, where he plans to face a young wrestler looking for a big opportunity.

In the promo, Perry stood next to a wooden board with a knife stuck in it as he spoke directly to the camera. He recalled everything he achieved during the first part of his AEW career, mentioning that he won four championships.

However, he also admitted that he was “right on the verge of breaking through that next level.” Now, all he wants is to achieve that next level.

Perry explained that “Chapter 2” is all about growing, improving, and taking the next step. Instead of calling out a top star, he said he wanted to give an opportunity to someone who is in “the same shoes” he used to be in.

He announced that on this Saturday’s AEW Collision, he will face an up-and-coming wrestler who is trying to make a name for himself.

The serious promo ended with a funny moment.

Perry asked Luchasaurus, “Did you get all that?”

The camera then pulled back to reveal Luchasaurus holding the boom microphone. He simply nodded, and as Perry left, he screamed, “Cut!”
