#3.) A clever swerve in the main event
Very few could have predicted that of all people to be the special guest referee in the main event, it would be Lacey Evans. While Brock Lesnar and the MITB were virtually ignored, the commentary team suspiciously mentioned Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins‘ relationship multiple times during the show.
Storyline wise, the idea of Evans as the referee was absolutely brilliant. It prevented Seth Rollins from using his steel chair and it gave Becky Lynch a reason to come out and get involved. The PPV ended with the babyface couple standing tall and it worked out well, despite a relatively poor main event.
