Hall of Fame Discussion

And if you are honoring NWA/WCW at this year’s HOF, how the hell do you not have the Rock and Roll Express and the Midnight Express with Jim Cornette? Name two teams who did more to innovate tag team wrestling. Freebirds? Road Warriors? Add them to the mix and both deserve spots in the Hall. But when the Rock and Rolls and the Express got together, it was magic. Fans clamor for old time tag team wrestling because of the matches these men used to put on, every single night.

And if you are honoring stars of Georgia Wrestling, you must have Ole Anderson as an inductee. Main eventer for years and the man who ran the show in Georgia for years as well. It’s easy to say put Arn Anderson in but does Ole have merit?

Of course, Ole once told Vince’s wife Linda to go F— herself.

Quite a conundrum, isn’t it?

And don’t clutter the argument by saying it’s Vince’s show… he can have what he wants, blah, blah, blah. Fact is Vince would put anyone anywhere if it would work for business. And that’s no fun for us for this conversation, is it?

What about Tommy Rich? Rumored to be inducted, Rich would get the pops of the night if they let him go on the mic. “SUMBUDY SAY SUMTHIN ABOUT A HAWL A FAIM?!?”

Same for the Midnights and the Rock and Rolls. Throw them up on the stage with Cornette and we could have hours of material.

I’d throw in an honor for Dennis Brent as well. Shot pictures for WCW for years and is a true historian of the business. Tony Schiavone? Would that make it the greatest night in the history of our sport?

So, what about the 800-pound gorilla in the room? You mean Goldberg?

What about the 1600-pound gorilla right next door? How about Nash and Hall?

What do you think? Tell me and I’ll reprint the best ones here next week.
