Mark Madden Returns; Talks Monday Night Wars, Kong & More

KONG GONE

TNA canned Awesome Kong. I feel bad. Much as I enjoyed hearing about it and wish I would have seen it, she was in the wrong for punching Bubba the Love Stooge. What Bubba said was reprehensible, but all in a day's work for a shock jock. Kong had a unique look and was a decent strong-style worker for a chick, but (despite TNA's minuscule ratings gains during segments featuring the Knockouts) women don't draw money. She's no loss.

The real upshot of the Kong-Bubba incident is that Bubba is still with TNA. He's done nothing but cause turmoil since joining the company, he does no tangible good, he initiated a physical altercation with a TNA performer by saying something heinous, but he's still with TNA. It's proof of how deep Hogan's talons are sunk into Dixie Carter's brain. Bubba and Hogan are best friends. Bubba is Teflon. One crony saved. Are more cronies en route?

Traci Brooks was also let go. I'd be more than willing to book her for a private performance.
