Chris Masters – Life After The WWE (WZ Debut Column)

Hello to all the fans and smarks! The former Masterpiece here to write my first article for Wrestlezone.com.

Here we go coming off my abrupt injury and departure from WWE, the most common question I’m asked is if I feel like the scapegoat. Well, I feel like it’s both yes and no. In my opinion, I was fed to the lions when I was on my second suspension; however, from a business standpoint, it does cost a lot to invest in someone especially if its not known where that person is in their life.

I still stand my ground. I gladly would have been re-tested! I know I’m healthy, clean, and lets not forget I’m 24 yrs old! The way I see it, about five more years and I’ll be 30 and that’s not old, so if it’s meant to be I’ll be back there!

Moving on, I’m fired up because I leave for Japan in 2 days. This will be my first time working with Inokis and the IGF promotion. My elbow is still not 100%; however, I’m training and doing physical therapy so I should be good to go! This will be my 1st match back since the England match with Taker and Kane–the one were my injury occurred.

It sucks, but I’ve been enjoying not being gone, gone, gone, all the time! It’s nice to be back in your own hood compared to strange places all the time. I did however enjoy the fact that I was able to see so much of the world being in this business.

Currently I’m discussing a movie possibility with a producer who happens to be a huge mark and friend of mine. The movie will star another WWE favorite, sorry can’t leak too much information… Don’t want to jinks it;). You can rest assured its obviously not a WWE production!

So now I figured I’d finish with a road story and make this a regular part of my articles:

I was traveling with Kenny a.k.a. The Dyke and Johnny Morrison. We had just finished a show somewhere on the east coast, can’t remember where. Anyway, we found an Italian restaurant that was great! The only problem though was that the restroom was out of order.

Kenny and I walked down the alley to find a spot to relieve ourselves, and we stumbled on a house party straight out of American pie! So Kenny and I went back to the restaurant and convinced John that we should all crash the party after we finish our dinner! And so we did.

A few of the frat guys recognized us and after welcoming us to the party, we got a little game of beer bong started. The Dyke (Ken) was the mvp but we all carried our weight. We whipped that frat’s house ass!! It was a fun ass night. Could of hung all night, but we needed to head on our way, since it was a 90 mile drive to the next town. But that’s how it always was.

So expect my next post when I return from Japan. I’m going to take a journal and document my experience there. That should be around the 21st of DEC. Can’t wait to go. Wrestling isn’t everything, it’s the only thing! I’m only 24 years old, I broke in early and that’s an advantage. Youth is a beautiful thing!
