Triple H and CM Punk Face off Review:

CM Punk loves that the world is watching and waiting to hear what is going to be said. He says he respects Triple H, and was happy that he fired Nash. Punk says he does not like Triple H, and he has heard all the horrible things that Triple H has said about Punk. Triple H called Punk an undersized Internet Darling. He talks about how nothing in the WWE has changed since Vince was fired. He goes on to talk about how a guy like Punk is never seen as a world champion, and says he feels that big guys and muscle men get more opportunities than guys like Punk. Triple H name former champions who were not body builders. They argue back and forth, as Triple H talks about CM Punk’s failures. Punk goes on to talk about how CM Punk’s opinion has changed. Triple H talks about how his opinion does not matter, and how he needs to get over with the crowd. CM Punk wants to know where the WWE Ice Cream Bars are at. The crowd goes crazy, as Punk continues his rant. He tells a story in 2006 before Survivor Series where he was on a team with DX. He says 18,000 people in Philly were chanting CM Punk. He grabbed the imaginary brass ring and went nowhere with it. He says he would rather be hated for who he is than loved for something he is not. Triple H talks about the opportunities that Punk has actually had. John Cena’s name gets brought up by Triple H, and talks about how he came from nothing and has become the biggest star in wrestling. He did it by winning the fans over, and worked his ass off to now sell out arenas. CM Punk says the crowd has been behind him, and Triple H says that was not always the case. Punk says he was handed nothing, sacrificed everything, and busted his ass to get everything he wanted. Triple H says this match is not business, it is personal. Triple H goes off and talks about how he is going to kick his ass.  Punk says he is the best in the world, and says he will make H go to sleep. He then says its about Paul Levesque and Phil Brooks. The microphone gets cut out, and both guys are upset about not being able to speak. Triple H says he wants a pipe bomb to be laid on him as he grabs another microphone. Punk gets the microphone and hits Triple H in the face. He then tells him to suck it, and walks off with a smirk on his face.

Reaction:

What a fantastic ending to a sub par show. You could see and feel the hatred between these two guys, and they are given time to tell how history has changed the WWE. You see comparisons between Triple H and CM Punk as it relates to their storytelling. This will be the main event of the Pay Per View, as it should be. They use the real names to make it feel even more real, which I was happy to hear. You cannot over use that trick, but it fit perfectly. Cutting the microphones out was a nice touch, because that is how the beginning of CM Punk began a few months ago. This segment gets an A.

Overall:

The go-home show of Monday Night Raw built the tag team title match, made a fatal four way for the U.S Title, and built up Punk and Triple H even more. The “most” prestigious title in the WWE was pushed back very far in our minds, as an awful booking of Cena and Del Rio should be before Henry and Orton on Sunday. They have given a better build for them than Cena, as each week they continue to drop the ball, and seemingly run out of ideas with Cena and Del Rio. It was nice to see Rhodes and Orton put on a good match, but that really was the only match that was given more than 5 minutes. Kelly Kelly and Vickie made no sense, as they tried to tangle two storylines into one segment. It did not work. I am excited for the U.S Title match on Sunday, and am beginning to enjoy Miz and Truth together… for now. The overall show seemed rushed and forced. Overall, Raw gets a C-.
