Title This: Impact Wrestling Reaction 10-6-2011

Opening Segment:

What I Liked:

Robert Roode and James Storm do a really solid job interacting with one another as friends, but as friends who want to be just as good as the other one. They discuss Hulk Hogan in this segment about how he needs to retire, and I like that the young guys are finally taking shots at the veterans. It shows a sense of realism, because I am sure deep down the entire locker room feels this way. Also, I like how Storm and Roode said they were going to bring it all tonight in their match, as this story of Roode fighting Fortune each week has always kept my interest, even though we knew Roode would continue to win.

What I Disliked:

No showing of Angle to talk trash and build their match to the fullest. He needs to be seen in the beginning of the show since he is the Champion and this is the go home show. It just lacked star power, and needed an extra boost. Maybe have him try and persuade Storm to turn against him? Why not continue to add wrinkles to the story?

Grade of Segment: B-

Gunner vs. Kazarian:

What I Liked:

The match was not too bad, as you saw a lot of pent up frustration from Gunner. I like the ending part as well to reverse the decision due to Gunner not unlocking the submission hold. It seems that they give more of a mental problem with Gunner, which allows him to be seen as weak in the mind, but strong everywhere else.

What I Disliked:

I did not like the meaningless match to start off Impact's in ring action. Also, these two guys did not have enough time to build anticipation and build a good story between the ropes. Give the match a little more time to see how good Kazarian is, and how much Gunner still needs to improve.
