Bully Ray Puts Jeff Over

One Step Down

Let me get this straight. Bully Ray is supposed to be involved in a heated feud with Ken Anderson. He's one of the better heels in your company. He needs further development to continue distancing himself from his tag team past. And he's TNA's best option to put Jeff Hardy over in his return match on Impact?

Even worse, it's setting up what TNA apparently perceives as a bigger priority in a Jeff Hardy vs Jeff Jarrett program.

Bully Ray had been on a roll. He was making the most out of everything he was given, week in and week out. I don't have to like him personally to admit that he had been "excellent" for most of this year. Losing to Jeff Hardy isn't the end of his career, but it was unnecessary.  TNA has a roster full of mid-card heels to do that job. Bully Ray isn't supposed to be "that" guy. Not anymore.

Honestly, Jeff Jarrett is supposed to be that guy. Hardy earns more beating Bully Ray at this point than he does Jeff Jarrett. I guess TNA sees it differently. Jeff Jarrett is supposed to be perceived as a bigger threat to Hardy than Bully Ray is. In that respect, it's a step down for both Bully Ray AND Jeff Hardy.

Maybe Jeff Jarrett should be moving up this week as a result, but for some reason, I can't force myself to type those words.
