John CenaJohn Cena def. The Big Show in a Steel Cage Match

Overview:

Instead of doing a like vs. dislike, I will break down what happened and what I thought about it in one. First off, John Cena is threatened to be fired for the third time in the past two years. Do any of us really believe he will be fired? The only way this would happen is if we all knew his contract was up and he did not resign yet. That is the ONLY way, but that will never happen. It gets frustrating when they book without the common sense factor. The cage match was meant to make Show look powerful and dominant, but that did not happen. Cena was getting beaten down, but nothing memorable happened. The cage was not used as much as I thought it should. Big Show should have carved Cena apart, potentially drawing blood. This would make for a more believable fight, one that Show needed. When the Big Show tried to escape, what the hell was that about? I know he wants to win, but for weeks his thing was to make Cena pay. You are trying to escape the grasp of Cena, so doesn’t that make Show look like he has had enough and is scared? What an absolute joke this entire match was. I really did not think anything was that great, besides a few moves and the fact that the faces came out to trap Show. That helped Cena, and really made Brodus Clay more important in my mind. That was a smart way, as well as having the faces who were attacked by Show try to stop him. Vince fires Laurinaitis, but I doubt we have seen the last of Johnny. He is too good at having the crowd hate him to go away permanently. This was very lackluster, and they wanted to do more to interest people on Raw the next night. We will see if it happens.
