Curtis Axel defeated The Miz and Wade Barrett to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship
Reaction: I will be the first person to say that this match did not really intrigue me. The storyline was thrown together and the guys involved are at different paths in their careers. Aside from that, this was an excellent match. I was really impressed with The Miz, a guy who takes criticism for not being the best face in the company. His offensive skills are adapted more for a face than a heel. He is smart in the ring and continues to work at a fast pace. Wade Barrett was going to lose the title, no doubt. How would he lose it is the question. Curtis Axel also looked really good in the match. He has the great combination of speed and agility to work over his opponents. He may have one of the best dropkicks in the business. The finish saw Axel pin Barrett when Miz had the Figure Four locked in. This was a great way to give Axel the title, steal it in a heel fashion so he is not cheered, and keep open some opponents for him. He may be facing more important guys in the future, such as Triple H, but they need to remember to make this championship meaningful once again.
