Wrestlezone’s Top Ten WWE Elimination Chamber Participants

#9 – Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio is one of only three men who have ever competed in three back-to-back Elimination Chamber matches, from 2009 to 2011. Collectively he's spent 81 minutes inside the Chamber, eliminating both Kane and Chris Jericho in his first outing, and CM Punk a year later. Interestingly, all three of his matches were fought for the World Heavyweight Championship.

WWE's biggest little man doesn't have the most impressive numbers – three matches, but only three eliminations and no wins – but he's been so valuable to some of the best Chamber matches ever, that he deserves a spot near the bottom of the list. While many powerful Superstars have entered the match, hit their signature moves and waited for the end, Mysterio is one of the few guys who wrestles complete and entertaining matches while inside the Chamber. In 2009 he and Chris Jericho entered #1 and #2 working a full-length, PPV quality match before anybody else even got involved. The same thing happened between Mysterio and Edge in 2011. The numbers may be deciving, but Rey is among the best Elimination Chamber performers, simply by not allowing the intimidating structure to limit what he can accomplish technically.

#8 – Randy Orton

wwe live event resultsRandy Orton participated in the second ever Elimination Chamber match at SummerSlam in 2003, back before the structure had its own PPV. During the height of the Evolution faction, Orton's sole responsibility was to keep the World Heavyweight Championship around the waist of Triple H. He succeeded in doing so, but at the cost of taking a huge spear from Goldberg, sacrificing his own dreams of becoming champion. The next year, with Evolution all but disbanded, Orton eliminated former stable mate Batista, but came up short in his attempt to defeat Triple H for the title yet again.

Randy Orton's track record in the Elimination Chamber match isn't all that stellar, but it's the impressive five times he's entered the Devil's Playground that lands puts him on this list. Three more times the Viper stepped inside the structure, and three more times he failed to win the WWE Championship, or a title shot at WrestleMania. However, in 2013 Orton had his strongest performance to date, eliminating Mark Henry and Chris Jericho, lasting a full 31 minutes in the match.

This year, Randy Orton will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship inside the Elimination Chamber for the first time – his sixth Chamber match. In what may be the most stacked match in years, Orton will have to defend against four former world champions in John Cena, Sheamus, Daniel Bryan and Christian, and the impressive up-and-comer Cesaro.
