Stars in Progress: The Usos Peak Too Early, Jeff Jarrett Promotion, Heyman Is Still Brilliant, Hulk Hogan’s Big Announcement

the usosThe Usos – One Step Down

If you popped Monday when The Usos defeated NAO to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions…you're not alone. I did too. It was a great match and well-deserved for the charismatic duo.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that feeling won't last. The Usos aren't established enough as a viable tag team threat to hold fans' interests without the chase of the titles in place.

I'm not positive they would have been ready by 'Mania — the anticipated and most expected time for them to take the titles — but they definitely weren't ready now. And with the chase out of the way, what's our reason to care?

"They're great in the ring!" That's not enough for "me" to care.

I'm not claiming The Usos don't have what it takes. I really hope they do, but it hasn't been proven yet. The Outlaws were, and still are a better a choice to lead the tag division, currently.

Say I'm "stuck in the past" all you want, and we can agree to disagree, but why I should be getting excited for The Usos as champions? I can pop for nearly any title change if the match is put together right. Now, that moment is gone, so what carries them into the future. Or maybe a better question…who carries them into the future?

Outside of another match or two with The Outlaws, who do The Usos work with in the future? Maybe The Wyatts minus Bray, The Ascension if they get brought up soon…and I'm blank.

I'm not writing them off yet, despite how it may sound. I'm willing to keep an open mind because it seems I am clearly in the minority with this opinion. But I'm skeptical. Very skeptical.
