Stars in Progress: Damien Sandow Meets Wolverine, Who’s Winning the Shield vs. Evolution War?, Two Bearded Champions, More

Stars in Progress

On the heels of a great TNA Sacrifice pay-per-view, and the eve of one of the more anticipated WWE pay-per-views sorry, "special events" of the year, lots of movement took place in the wrestling world in the past 7 days. Where did both bearded world champions land? Who is winning the Shield vs. Evolution war? We're about to find out.

Eric Young: One Major Step Up

A lot of people laughed at the idea of an Eric Young world title reign. And when I say "a lot" I mean darn near 99% of the vocal online community thought it was either a horrible idea, or an obvious rip-off of Daniel Bryan's WrestleMania win – or both. At TNA's Sacrifice PPV, EY successfully defended his world championship in the obligatory rematch against Magnus, who he beat clean with a piledriver and a top rope elbow drop.

A main event world title match ended…clean. In the immortal words of old Ben Kenobi, "now that's a name I've not heard in a long time…a long time."

Young gets a step up for a retaining the title, another for having a very good match, and everyone involved can take a step up for booking a clean finish to an important PPV main event. Good job.
