Dear WWE: I’ve Fixed Your “Lana Problem”

1) IGNORE THE PROBLEM

wwe superstarsThis is a strategy WWE has used – a lot. Usually it’s deployed when a star is getting over that they don’t want to get over. Basically you just completely ignore what the fans are chanting for, know that for a small time they will get louder, but eventually something newer and shinier will come along and distract them. Let’s call this the “Zack Ryder Method” of effectively killing a push.

In this scenario, WWE will acknowledge what the fans want – Lana getting her time in the spotlight – and tease walking in that direction. Maybe they even split the two up for awhile. They’ll go back to ignoring all the “we want Lana” chants, which will temporarily increase said chants, but eventually fans will get the point and move on. The end result is that Lana no longer gets babyface reactions; the downside is she won’t get any reaction at all. See: Zack Ryder.

This is the absolute worst thing they can do with her. It does “solve” the problem at face value, but at the pretty obvious expense of killing her momentum completely.
