Come For ‘Taker, Stay For The Women

wwe live eventNatalya is training MMA’s “Four Horsewomen” to work in pro wrestling. That’s good. Anything that gets WWE more invested in women is good for the NXT women, and the division’s accompanying upgrade.

Legit stars must be established among the women. Top guns. Everybody can’t be .500. Kevin Owens appears to have just received that death sentence.

I’ve got mixed emotions about Owens losing to John Cena, and dropping back in the pecking order. Owens has grown on me. He has charisma. He’s an excellent legit heel. Fans may cheer him, but it’s not because he compromises his character.

But is Owens a top guy, especially given how he looks and how WWE expects its top guys to look? Can Owens ever reach that level? The World Series of fat-shaming kicked off on Smackdown.

It’s possible to earn your stripes in WWE. But it’s mostly preconceived. Nobody could perform better than Cesaro has recently. But Cesaro still is where he is.

Steph says Darren Young’s WWE character isn’t gay. Why not?

C.M. Punk feuds on Twitter with Virgil. Tammy Sytch criticizes the looks of up-and-coming young talent trying to make their way in a business she mostly mangled even as she exposes herself for money on Skype. Brave new world.
