Isenberg Reacts: Impact Wrestling “The Invasion Is On!”

Bobby Roode Is Contender To PJ Black

impact wrestlingA Fatal-Four Way was the match of the night, with Roode defeating Lashley, Mr. Anderson and James Storm. Four of the best TNA has to offer delivered in a really competitive match and I thought that it was scripted perfectly. Everyone wanted to see some Beer Money moves, with both guys teasing throughout and the crowd itching to see it. To defeat Lashley, you must have him be targeted like many “beasts.” Not just one guy can eliminate him from contending. Roode ducks a Last Call from Storm and hits a Roode Bomb for the win.

As much as I enjoyed this match, why is the King of the Mountain Championship being taken seriously? Why does it seem to be more important than EC3 and his feud with Matt Hardy? Sorry, but the logic makes no sense. There is no HISTORY to this title that means a lick. Highlight these guys wanting a shot at “their company title.”

The Invasion Is On!

It came down to the final segment to find out who was behind the attacks. As Dixie Carter was about to hand over the company to Jeff Jarrett, Drew Galloway makes his way to the ring. He finds out the rentals cars that are linked to the assaults belonged to Jeff Jarrett. Karen Jarrett comes out and spills the beans, saying a spark can ignite a fire and they are doing it for GFW. This gives the GFW guys the chance to jump Drew. TNA members come to help out Galloway, including Rockstar Spud.

This ends a decent night of Impact and makes me wonder. Is this the last ditch effort for TNA to save their television deal with Destination America? An invasion angle from Jeff Jarrett? TNA is desperate and I still do not get why. They have TALENT. They have guys who know how to tell a story and have writers who come up with good ideas. Is the name “TNA” that damaged right now where they are pulling at straws to save their brand? Look, they are trying to do something interesting and they have gotten great talent spotlighted on television. How can this last, though? Sometimes, there is just too many guys. Sometimes, they need to simplify it and strip down whatever they think is a deep and developed story and just let their talent WORK.
