Isenberg Reacts: WWE TLC “Are You Ready…For Roman Reigns?”

Half of The League of Nations

wwe tlcIn two matches in the middle of the card, Alberto Del Rio and Rusev picked up wins over Jack Swagger and Ryback separately. While these were not billed as really “big” matches, but they provided little interest for me.

Let’s face it; Alberto Del Rio needs someone more than Jack Swagger to feud with. Nothing against Swagger personally, but he has not grown AT ALL since WrestleMania 29. It’s almost three full years later. Just look at matches involving a United States Champion on PPV’s since Wrestlemania:

John Cena vs. Rusev three times, Cena vs.Owens three times, Cena vs. Rollins twice and Cena vs. Del Rio. This is such a step back for a title that was just as meaningful than the US Title. Now, do you want to bash John Cena?

Rusev and Del Rio are really good, when they have the right pairing. Neither of their opponents were the right pairing for them. Plain and simple, this was ineffective on many levels for their development as a dominant stable. They must win MEANINGFUL matches.

From Extreme To…

Wyatt Family took on Rhyno, Tommy Dreamer and The Dudley Boyz in what felt like an ECW match. Albeit, the match had some lapses in timing, I think it came off relatively well. I am vocal on this match really pushing The Wyatt Family down a bit, but if this is only for a month, I can relax.

What I cannot relax on is the fact that this was not a good outing from Braun Strowman. It just seemed like he was lost at times and did not mix well with so many others guys in the ring. You got your pops, including a nice 3D onto Rowan to eliminate him. God, that guy can’t catch a break. Nevertheless, these big men were a reason why this match wasn’t great. It was predictable, it was extremely spotty and it created some nostalgia spots and not much more.

So, where do the Wyatt Family go from here?
