Isenberg Reacts: Impact Wrestling “Right Woman In Charge”

X Division Championship

Trevor Lee overcame DJ Zema Ion and Eddie Edwards in an excellent Triple Threat Match on Impact. With the help of Andrew Everett, Lee took advantage with a double knee stomp to secure his victory. This match never slowed down and whether it was a nice transition from a Blue Thunder Bomb to a German Suplex shortly after, all three men were able to connect with their offense and keep the pace going. Everett helping Trevor Lee is smart because Helms can only do so much for him. I like the new blood, the young guys taking reign at the top of the X-Division. This needs to be a division that is focused on “young and independent” wrestlers coming in and trying to make a statement. With the random King of the Mountain title, this could be viewed as an NXT Championship of sorts, while the KOTM is more mid-card for guys who need relevance outside of creative storylines.

Bram Breaks Out, EC3 Challenges Bennett

Bram and Eric Young are in the ring and Young talks about how he is fed up with the company and is quitting. He tells Bram to come with him, but Bram stays in the ring. This sets up an attack from Eric Young, which gives Bram a much needed boost. I have always been a fan of his style, but Bram has been in neutral for quite some time. With Eric Young’s help and a potential feud to give Bram a championship, this could be the best of Bram. I love him as a heel, but Eric Young is so good at being dastardly and intense as a heel where you have to let him help get Bram to the next step. I think this is imminent and only good things for Bram are coming.

Mike Bennett and EC3 talk in the ring, as Bennett talks about Prince EC3 and how he beat him. EC3 comes out and stops the fairytale, telling Bennett he won by DQ because he beat his ass all over the Impact Zone last week. This sets up a challenge, which was accepted by Bennett. Out of these two in-ring segments, you can tell TNA continues to produce and build younger talent. With this roster, I really do see a more consistent and well developed group of guys on a regular basis. This is such a traditional and old school build where it simply works for all parties involved. Bram has potential, while EC3 is at the top of his game with Mike Bennett slowly creeping up on him. Three stars in the making, with two of them already made.
